Please note that if you are paddling the SOUTH ISLANDS route, you need accommodations for the nights before and after your trip (e.g. for March 13-18 trip, you need a place to stay March 12 & 18).

Paddlers on the COASTAL trips need accommodation for the night after their trip only since we head north to San Nicolas the afternoon prior to your trip start and camp at our launch site (e.g. for March 5-11 trip, we camp on the beach in San Nicolas March 4th, and you arrange a place to stay for the 11th).

The following are some alternatives for your information: (HOTEL JUNIPERO, HOTEL SALVATIERRA and POSADA SAN MARTIN, HOTEL SAN FRANSISCO, HACIENDA SUITES are all good choices).

CAMPING:
RIVIERA DEL MAR RV PARK & CAMPGROUND  Just 2 blocks to the beach, 5 blocks to the historical center of town, restaurant, showers with hot water, clean washrooms, laundry service, rest area with BBQ facilities, Internet and fax services available.

LORETO SHORES RV PARK is a nice place to camp (about US$8 per night) - on the sea, hot showers – and is very close to Villas de Loreto. ph (613) 135-0629

Camping at El Morro RV or Los Peregrinos RV is US$4/night: both have showers and both RV's are in the centre of town. You don’t need to make reservations at any of these sites. RV’s will out-number campers at all these campsites.

If you are staying in a hotel before or after your trip, please store your extra gear there. If you are camping only, we'll store your knapsack etc in our limited storage space. One in forty people lose their luggage coming into Loreto. If you are one of the lucky ones... Let Aero California or Aero Mexico (or any charter line you are flying with) know where you are staying. Nine times out of ten your gear will turn up the next day. If departing on a trip the next day, discuss your situation with our guides.


‘OUT N’ ABOUT’ IN LORETO:
Our Mexican partner, Joel Lopez, has 11 classic ‘beach-cruisers’ bicycles available for rent in Loreto. These green bikes come in a variety of sizes and styles (there is even a bicycle built for two!) and can be rented for the day @$10. Perfect for matching the slow Loreto pace and exploring the cobblestone streets.
