ROUTES:
We offer four routes in the Loreto area. On our "Coastal" kayak tour, we taxi north to the small fishing village of San Nicolas and paddle south 50 miles of remote white sand beaches and spectacular cliffs, visiting small fish camps along the way, and may encounter surf beaches. On this route we paddle 7 days, 4-5 hours a day, leaving lots of time for beach combing, snorkeling, and desert exploration and we will change camps most nights. The 6-day “South Islands” trips are a more relaxed affair: we will change camp only three times over the six days, to allow for more relaxed mornings and more time for hiking and beach play. The daily distance of paddling on this tour is slightly shorter than on the 7 day "Coastal" route. Variations on these routes are possible with advance notice and discussion of special interests.
In addition, a longer (ten day) and often more challenging trip is scheduled from Loreto to La Paz for late spring (March 23-April 1, 2008, April 5-14, 2008). This trip is very remote with only a few road access points along the way. The coastline is ever changing as we paddle down a section of the Sierra Giganta mountain range, changing camps every day. This is a pick-up-and-go style of trip where the main focus is paddling, yet leaving time in the afternoons for snorkeling, hiking and relaxation. We pass by hot springs, small fishing camps and villages set along this amazing coastline. This route is true expedition paddling.
New! Coronado Island Trips are scheduled for the dates November 22-24, 2007, December 13-15, 2007, and January 5-7, 2008. This new route offers a different style of vacation, the three days base camping provide lots of opportunity for circumnavigating the volcanic island, desert hiking and snorkeling with sea lions. This route is great for people who have only a few days to explore the area, or for folks who want to learn more about kayak-camping expeditions while not moving too far. This style offers a lot for beginner paddlers or families. This trip will be our only fully catered trip as to make this a true vacation from all responsibilities! Come and check out this pristine lagoon and this phenomenal island in the national marine park. Three days will seem like a lifetime in this turquoise paradise! Also, ask us to schedule a private contract trip if these dates don’t fit into your schedule!
